Golden Retriever

A brown dog with floppy ears is looking up at the camera with its mouth open and tongue out. The dog is standing in a field of tall grass.

What does this mean for a dog with this trait?

Chemotherapy is the most common approach for TZL treatment, though the drug type and frequency depend on the severity and specific pathology of the disease. Complete remission is possible with treatment, with 80-90% of dogs gaining an average survival time of 10-12 months and 20-25% living up to two years. Without treatment, dogs with TZL generally live only 4-6 weeks.

Symptoms

Dogs with canine T-zone lymphoma generally do not show overt clinical signs of illness. However, they may experience decreased energy and have swelling in the mandibular and prescapular lymph nodes.
