Skeletal dysplasia 2 is a genetic disorder affecting Labrador Retrievers caused by a mutation in the COL11A2 gene. It is a type of dwarfism known as disproportionate dwarfism, meaning the legs are truncated, whereas the body is normal size.

Symptoms

Signs of skeletal dysplasia 2 include shortened and sometimes curved bones, especially in the front legs. Bones also often have wide ends. Skeletal dysplasia 2 does not affect the width or length of the body or size of the head.
