Care for a dog with PRA1 includes minimizing hazards, keeping on a leash in unfamiliar environments, and increasing supervision. There is no cure for PRA1.
Symptoms
Signs of PRA1 appear around 6 years old. Dogs with the condition begin to show signs of worsening eyesight, like increased clumsiness, more apprehensive movement, and trouble tracking objects. Eventually, PRA1 leads to complete blindness.
