Miniature Poodle
What does this mean for a dog with this trait?
Care for a dog with MPS VI is mainly supportive, as there is no cure. While some dogs can live for several years, pet parents should have open discussions with veterinarians regarding their pet's quality of life as the disease progresses.
Symptoms
Affected dogs may experience a range of symptoms, including stunted growth, skeletal deformities, progressive corneal cloudiness, and joint hyperlaxity, which causes mobility issues. Facial and limb abnormalities and changes in gait may also occur. The earliest signs often appear by three months of age, and eye issues typically emerge by seven months.
