What does this mean for a dog with this trait?
There is no cure for hypomyelination, and treatment focuses on managing symptoms and providing supportive care. Most puppies will eventually recover.
Symptoms
Puppies with hypomyelination begin to show signs of tremors as early as two weeks old. These tremors are noticeable when the puppies are awake and typically diminish by the age of 3 to 4 months. While the majority of affected puppies recover from the tremors, some may continue to exhibit mild tremors in their hind legs.
