There is no known cure for centronuclear myopathy (Great Dane type). Depending on the severity of the condition, care may range from limiting exercise and offering plenty of breaks to compassionate euthanasia due to poor quality of life.
Symptoms
Centronuclear myopathy (Great Dane type) can occur in varying degrees of severity. Some dogs may experience some muscle weakness, but still tolerate a moderate amount of exercise, whereas others are unable to walk more than a few steps without collapse.
