Imerslund-Grasbeck syndrome is a genetic disease that affects Beagles and Border Collies and is caused by a mutation in the CUBN gene. Dogs with the condition are unable to absorb vitamin B12. This condition is inherited in the autosomal recessive fashion, meaning both parents must be carriers for a litter to be affected.
