Hypomyelination is a genetic neurological disorder in Weimaraners characterized by tremors during puppyhood. It is caused by a mutation in the gene encoding folliculin-interacting protein 2 (FNIP2). The tremors occur due to impaired myelination in the spinal cord, affecting the nervous system's ability to relay messages effectively.
