Originated
Originating from Newfoundland, Canada, the Labrador Retriever was bred to be a working dog for fishermen. Breeders selected traits to create a loyal, friendly dog with solid retrieving ability.

Exercise
Labrador Retrievers are active dogs that require at least an hour of daily exercise. They enjoy running, hiking, swimming, and, of course, playing fetch.
Nutrition
Labrador Retrievers need high-quality dog food appropriate for their age, weight, and activity level. Monitor their calorie intake and make sure they get plenty of exercise because Labs are prone to obesity.

Labrador Retrievers have a short, dense coat that sheds in the fall and spring. Brush them regularly to remove loose fur and prevent matting. Bathe your Lab occasionally.
